Bryce Picture

BRYCE KRAMER - CEO

We pride ourselves on putting the right people in the right positions at the right time. Our succession plan has been ongoing for several years while people trained and built solid competencies and skills to excel in their new positions.

Bryce is a family man dedicated to have a successful career in the credit union system.

THE MAN BEHIND THE TITLE

If there is a phrase that describes Bryce the best, it is a Passionate supporter of the credit union system.

Bryce has been involved in the credit union system in one way or the other all his life. He worked in the lending departments of Crossroads Credit Union (Sturgis) and Macklin Credit Union before he became a Loans Manager at Biggar & District Credit Union. He climbed the proverbial corporate ladder and spent time as the Manager of Credit/Risk, VP of Support Services, and Chief Operating Officer, before he accepted the position as CEO on January 1, 2023.

Bryce is passionate about keeping the cooperative principles alive. He is building solid relationships with other credit unions because he believes that working together ensures we continue to provide the best products and services to our members. He focuses on educating younger members about financial literacy so they can make good financial decisions for their future wealth.

IAN HAWKINS - VP of SUPPORT SERVICES

We pride ourselves on putting the right people in the right positions at the right time. Our succession plan has been ongoing for several years while people trained and built solid competencies and skills to excel in their new positions.

Ian and his wife, Erin, recently explored Alaska. They enjoy spreading their wings and experience different areas.

THE MAN BEHIND THE TITLE

Born and raised in Biggar, Ian Hawkins has been preparing for the role of VP of Support Services his whole career.

He farmed for 11 years south of Landis, went to college where he obtained a diploma in Crop Technology and worked in the agriculture industry for 5 years before he was approached in 2012 to become an Ag Lender at Biggar & District Credit Union.

“I thought this was a good opportunity to switch direction in my career. Working Mondays to Fridays allowed me time to coach my kids in various sports.”

Ian was an Ag Lender for 9 years (2 years in Landis) before he became VP of Support Services in 2022. A typical day consists of compiling and interpreting financial reports, meetings about the newest technology offerings, discussing staffing needs, representing the credit union at events, and participating in board meetings. He still enjoys a hands-on approach, and this makes him the best person to look after the building renovations (some planned and others not so much).

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT IAN

Here are some things you might not have know about Ian.

  1. Basketball/Baseball/Hockey
  2. Last book I read? I prefer to read online.
  3. Do you eat pasta with knife & fork or with a spoon? Knife and Spoon

  10. What does your number plate mean? IKUNV – I know You Envy. I’ve had this plate since age 16.

MEET OUR VP of CREDIT SERVICES

Jocelyn oversees the consumer, ag, and commercial lending departments.

JOCELYN POLETZ - VP of SUPPORT SERVICES

Jocelyn lives in Biggar with her husband, Garret, and their three daughters. They also own and operate a 3000 head feedlot and 1000 head cow/calf operation.

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE TITLE

Jocelyn received her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Saskatchewan and was an Ag Lender for 12 years with FCUIC designation. She chose to take a position at the Credit Union five years ago initially because of the flexibility it offered her with three young kids. She considered the “family first” culture, focus on member relationships, commitment to community (not just monetary but emphasis on involvement), and room for advancement to be "amazing".

The majority of Jocelyn's day is spent providing the lending team training and support, overseeing the commercial lending portfolio, and managing overall credit risk for Biggar & District Credit Union.

Their three daughters are all involved in hockey and softball so Jocelyn spends much of her winters at the hockey rink and warmer months at the ball diamond.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT JOCELYN

Here are some things you might not have know about Jocelyn.

  1. Basketball/Baseball/Hockey: Hockey and Baseball are a tie. I grew up playing both and now as a mom I love watching (and coaching) my 3 daughters play both sports
